The Light Industrial Initiative's networking event in Berlin

The Light Industrial Initiative gathered in Berlin at the end of June for its summer networking event. In addition to in-person discussions among members and interested parties, the program featured two expert presentations on current developments in the light industrial market. The event took place at the offices of ImmoScout24.

Bernhard Leiner (Siemens) kicked off the event by taking participants on a journey through the Siemensstadt Square development project. Using the neighborhood as an example, he demonstrated the opportunities offered by modern industrial and commercial sites and how historic industrial sites can be successfully redeveloped for future uses.

In the second presentation, Francesca Boucard (Colliers) addressed a highly topical issue: the growing importance of the defense sector for the light industrial market. She explained the impact of rising investments in defense and security on demand for space, locations, and real estate markets, as well as what developments can be expected in the future.

The get-together that followed provided an opportunity to delve deeper into the presentations and discuss current market developments with representatives from owner, developer, investor, and consulting circles. This open exchange within the network is a central component of the initiative and helps identify trends early on and develop shared perspectives for the light industrial market.

We would like to thank our speakers Bernhard Leiner and Francesca Boucard for their fascinating insights, as well as all participants for the constructive exchange. Special thanks also go to ImmoScout24, which provided the initiative with its premises for the networking meeting.

We are already looking forward to the next meeting of the Light Industrial initiative.
